As I passed hundreds of Tanzanians in drought stricken regions of their country who bathe, wash their clothes, and fill their containers with disease infested water from low level ponds, streams, and creeks, the politics of America never crossed my mind. My only thoughts were the overflow of thankfulness that my Lord allowed me to witness first hand His creation who could only dream of the possibility of living in the greatest country on the face of the earth.
Every day, Africans struggle to have the basic necessities of life. Water, food and shelter are daily concerns. Things like electricity, education and medical care are distant thoughts. Choice in career or any other area is a rare commodity.
I pray I will never forget the incredible blessing of being able to walk almost anywhere in the US and either turn on the tap for a fresh drink of water, or buy a bottle of clear spring water to quench my thirst. Thank you Lord.
