Contentment

1 Timothy 6:6 says, "Godliness with contentment is great gain."

I've never seen this more true than when I was in Africa. The pastors came from all around to attend our Leadership Development Institute in Mombasa.

Some had literally traveled for days. I noticed throughout our time with the pastors, wives and children, no one complained. No one complained they were sleeping on the concrete floor of a school. They were grateful they had thin, foam mattresses to sleep on. To some, that was a treat! They were grateful for the meals provided, for the materials given them, and overwhelmed by receiving their very own Bible.

As we worshiped together, the joy was palpable. Seeking God together, we were content.

I don't have enough time to get too involved but am interested to hear what it is all about. Thanks 30 November 2010 10:16 Anonymous said You would be very welcome to come to Parent Voice' as an observer. We very much want to work with parents and actively seek parental views. We have 2 more meetings this academic year as dated above. The aims of these sessions are discussion / feedback / collaboration in our continued aim to keep moving the school forward. Thank you. I am particularly interested in the VIVO rewards and them being fair. It might be a good idea to discuss the fair opportunity of school trips across the school as there seem to be some for certain ages and then the next year these same trips are not offered to the next year group. 10 December 2010 04:51 Anonymous said My intention is to always follow up on the points raised at the meetings and I intend for the blog to be an honest / open account of the collaboration between parents / school. I have also noted your point about the equality / fairness of trip allocation and I shall ass that to the next agenda.Thank you very much for your comments / feedback.Cate Mallalieu-Needle 10 December 2010 05:24
