Keeping Our Focus Clear

Sometimes we must remind ourselves of the key elements of what we’re doing and why we’re doing it. That applies to our priorities, our schedules, our checkbooks, our relationships, and our life goals.

Within the arena of Reaching Souls International we must always keep in mind the key elements of the following acrostic for A F R I C A:

A All glory goes to God for what is accomplished: this is His ministry, and we are His servants.

F Far-reaching into other nations of Africa and to other parts of the world (India, Cuba), as God directs and opens the doors to the people and places of His choosing

R Results are given only by God’s Spirit as He moves in the lives of those who hear and read the Truth of the Gospel.

I I must decrease while Christ must increase. My (our) role is to proclaim (and help others proclaim) the message of Jesus Christ and not to focus on “me” or “us.”

C Churches that are planted must be evangelical, based upon God’s written and proclaimed Word, and effectively “grown” through biblical methods.

A Accountability is essential: first, to God; then to our shareholders (those who support through prayer, finances, and time); and between our African pastors and our U.S. staff.

I am so distraught over my sons death 4 mnoths ago, I do not really know how to go on, my emotions are all over the place and any comment about anything brings me to tears, I need strength to get thru all of this, and my childrenI ask for prayers and intercession to get through this most difficult timemy son died from an accident was hit by a transport truck while on foot[] Reply:May 20th, 2011 at 9:46 amYvonne. God bless you. Embrace the Cross! Place your suffering at the Foot of the Cross. This is a great opportunity to become a saint. May the Holy Spirit comfort you and the tears of Our Mother strengthen you. Dear Christ, help our dear sister Yvonne through this day. Grant her the endurance to fight the good fight. Place your hand on her and provide her strength. We ask this with great confidence in your Mercy. Amen.[]Tracey Reply:May 20th, 2011 at 10:41 pmDear Yvonne,I will pray for you and your family's strength and comfort during this most difficult time. I will pray for your son's soul, too. You have my deepest sympathy. May I gently suggest, in addition to prayer with your family, that you seek grief counselling at your church? God's house is there for you with valuable resourses to help you and your family make it through this crisis. I pray you will seek out and receive the assistance, strength, courage, and prayers you and your family need at this time. You, your son, and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I will pray God gives you what you need. God Bless you, your family, and your son's soul.[] Reply:May 21st, 2011 at 8:05 amYvonne,Your son will be around you when you least expect it. It does seem cruel to be left to endure this pain. But focus on your other children. Comfort and guide them during their pain. Never stop talking about him. My sister was killed in the line of duty several years ago, and a day doesn't pass without continued thoughts of her. It's my peace, comfort, and my joy. God is so comforting. He is with you always. The love you have for your son, is only a fraction of the love God has for him. He loves him so much, he took him from this world to be with him. How happy your son must be. God bless you and comfort your family.[]

Dear Jesus, Model and Inspiration of the nursing pssreofion I know that when you ascended into heaven you left the care of the sick to those of us whom you are called and blessed with the holy vocation of nursing, help me to be faithful to that calling, so that, I can do the things you want me to do and in the manner you want me to do them. Grant that my voice may be gentle, that my hands may have softness and sympathy of your hands, that my presence may bring something for the hope and consolation for those who are suffering. Blessed me Lord, for I am about to begin the day's work. Teach me to receive the sick in your name. Grant success to my efforts, dear Jesus for the Glory of your holy name. It is your work, without you I cannot succeed. Grant that the sick you have placed in my care be abundantly blessed and not one of them be lost. I want to do all this things dear Jesus, but I know that I am weak and can do little without your aid. Please give me that aid this day and everyday of my life so that I can do the things you want me to do, and be an angel of the sick room. Lord God Heavenly King, Almighty God and Father. Right on! It took me three tries to read that little short pyearr and read it correctly. It truly IS an example of the wordiness and terribly poor sentence structure in the new mass! The new Creed is written in first person ( I believe in one God can we turn to our neighbor in church and ask during the Creed I believe in on God do you??? ) and the Creed is one GIANT run-on sentence. It has the three parts of the Trinity addressed but without beginning each with I believe in God I believe in Jesus Christ I believe in the Holy Spirit no, instead each begins with and in What a joke! We need as Catholic Christians to encourage MORE people to join our church and to make our young adults WANT to attend church. It's a constant struggle, but once they hear this often complex, wordy and sometimes just silly ( Lord I am not worthy that You should come under MY roof what?!?! whose church is it anyway?), they will want to attend church alright just NOT ours! There is a reason why praise music is being welcomed into our churches now it's fun, it's spiritual and it's appealing. Keeping bringing in praise music and enjoyable things to our churches that way when this hideous new mass hits next year, we can still have fun and be spiritually fed during our liturgy. Amen.

I wonder why these two tgnihs should even come under debate for the translation. If one dislikes I believe, or thinks the scriptural reference in the Lord, I am not worthy might seem odd, then the problem shouldn't be with the English version, but rather the Latin from which it is translated.IMO, it's legitimate to argue whether or not certain words or phrases are more appropriate when translating another language (like deciding to use spirit rather than ghost when translating spiritu ), and it's legitimate to debate what word order or sentence structure is best, but I honestly don't get why it's legitimate to debate whether or not the meaning of the Latin should be *changed* for the translation. Credo means I believe. In that particular particular case, it isn't a matter of interpretation. Also, it seems to me that to translate the Domine non sum dignus without keeping the clear Biblical reference is to change the meaning and intent behind it. That sort of change shouldn't be up for debate in a translation, IMO.I think there is legitimacy to some of the complaints about the new translation (like sentence structure, word order, and word choices), even if I disagree with some of them. However, I think critics of the new translation undermine their own argument when they also advocate for translations that are deliberately inaccurate to the point that some or all of the meaning is lost or changed

The chances are just about zero. Nothing will hpepan. The whole thing is an invention by a bunch of frauds and crackpots trying to get you to buy worthless books and videos. None of it has any basis in real science. The people promoting this have no knowledge of science. They just like to pretend to be knowledgeable in order to impress the gullible. Don't be one of the gullible. There is no ancient prediction' by the Mayans or anyone else. These were all invented in the last 20 years. There is no mystery planet' about to pass by. Why don't the fraudsters tell us its current location in the sky, so we can all look at it? You decide. There will be no rare alignment, either planetary or galactic. When was the last alignment that caused us any problems anyway? There will be no pole shift. A magnetic pole shift is not imminent and probably tens of thousands of years away. A sudden rotational pole shift is a physical impossibility. The next solar maximum is expected in mid 2013, not 2012 and is expected to be less intense than the last maximum in 2001.Other predictions such as the photon belt and Terence McKenna's Timewave Zero are just too silly to bother with.
