Our Home: Permanent or Eternal?

With the construction of the new headquarters building for Reaching Souls International that is now taking place, I got thinking about what we staffers frequently refer to as our “permanent home.”

After twenty-five years of renting office space, we are eagerly anticipating major changes in the days ahead: the increased number of offices we’ll have available, great opportunities to host events for supporters, visitors, and personnel from Africa, and greatly expanded storage facilities, in addition to even having some room for future growth. Yes, this “permanent home” will be a very welcome blessing to the entire ministry of Reaching Souls International.

But recently the thought crossed my mind: “As excited as we are about this “permanent home,” how incredibly more thrilled we should be about our “ETERNAL HOME”—yes, Heaven . . . in the presence of Jesus Christ, our Savior, forever!

That “ETERNAL HOME” will have no shortage of space: Indeed, there are rooms still being “added” for the thousands who are embracing the truth of Jesus every single day—Africans, Chinese, Indians, Colombians, Cubans, Americans, and on and on and on—those who are being drawn to the Savior by God’s Holy Spirit, those who are placing their faith in Jesus Christ and Him alone.

Our “permanent home,” as we refer to the future ministry headquarters of Reaching Souls International, is wonderful to anticipate.

But our “ETERNAL HOME”—now that is truly something to get excited about!
